The name is Hachi but you can also call me Nico (my real name), whichever you like. My blog title “オタクと腐女子” literally means Otaku and Fujoshi—both which (redundantly) pertains to my general being, lol. I grew up being exposed to all sorts of classic Japanese geekery. I can tell you the whole story on how I came to love the Japanese culture but it will surely make this section into a autobiography more than a simple introduction, lol. So why “fujoshi“?

Fujoshi 「腐女子」is a Japanese term used for female otakus who love anything that has to do with guy-to-guy romantic relationships, we popularly call this yaoi or BL (boys love). Fujoshis are actually otakus, they just call them “fujoshi” so it’s specific.

Honestly, I’m relatively new to BL fandom. Although, I already love watching and reading BL at an early age (lol) but only got to read specific titles by popular mangakas (i.e . Murakami Maki, Nakamura Shungiku, Yamano Ayane and the like). It is only now that I got to appreciate other BL mangakas that aren’t that much noticed — and to be honest, they’re much, much more worth-reading. It was only in early 2011 when I started collecting mangas imported from Japan. Before I only used to rely on scanlations and the very limited availability of BL manga here in the Philippines. Other than BL, I am also very fond of anime and video games. For other reads, I love reading GL, josei, seinen, shounen and psychological/horror ones. I am not a heavy novel reader but I’m pretty much attached to Haruki Murakami’s works and books that can inspire and help boost someone’s self-esteem.

I made this blog simply because I would love to share my love of gay porn BL to felllow fujoshis. Also, I used to just stare at BL stuff online; never really had a “real” (online) life until I finally started this very humble blog.

I hope everyone enjoys reading~!

  1. Hi! Sorry to seem like a creeper, but I recently stumbled upon your blog.
While I was stalking your entries, I noticed we had a lot of interests in common (BL [obviously], Nakamura Asumiko, Takarai Rihito, Ogura Muku, Est Em, Yamashita Tomoko, and Yusa Kouji, to name a few) as well as a similar taste in art (Kazuaki!). It always makes me so excited to find someone who shares interests with me, especially since it’s hard to talk about BL in real life.
Anyways, enough rambling. Just wanted to say that you have a great blog. Keep up the good work~ 😀

    • Oh don’t be sorry!
Glad to know we have a lot of common interests! It also makes me so happy whenever I get to meet another fujoshi! ❤
And aww thank you! You're too sweet! /;u;\

  2. Hello~! I’ve just stumbled on your while browsing another blog (I forgot which one though orz).
I’m both happy and surprised to see a fellow Filipino who also likes yaoi! Yay! x3
…”the very limited availability of BL manga here…”
-True. D: That’s why when I get a job, I’ll stop leeching for scanlations and buy Japanese manga. 😀
I’ve read on one of your posts that you just self-studied the Japanese language. Wow. *O* I’m trying to do that too since last year but I think I’m improving very s-l-o-w-l-y orz.
Anyway, nice meeting you! ^_^ I hope you don’t mind if I add you to my blogroll and follow your blog. And I hope you won’t find it that creepy. D:

PS I didn’t know that the owner of Project Cottontail blog is also a Filipino. 🙂

    • Oh yay another Filipino fujoshi! /o/
No worries, I’m quite slow with Japanese studies myself. ;; I still tend to rely on dictionaries and Google whenever I’m stuck with a certain text.
Oh that’s fine! Very much appreciated actually! Thank you. ❤

Hahaha yup! 🙂 A very kind and one at that, too! 😉

  3. HELLO!

Wow! I never thought this was a Pinoy-made blog!
I’m so happy and excited thinking we share same interests. I was also planning on studying Nihonggo and you inspired me.
    Your blog is amazing!

    Nice meeting you! ;’p

      • Thanks!
I hope you don’t mind me asking, but do you know any trustworthy site where they sell English translated mangas w/ a lower price than Amazon?
I was shocked when I saw the price of Ze vol. 6 in paperback to be at around 65 USD.

      • Omg $65? I’m not familiar with English licensed BL manga but I do know that’s too much for a paperback volume. D:
        Akadot Retail sells a wide range of English licensed BL manga but I haven’t tried ordering from them before. ;;

Are you residing in the Philippines? If so, I think you can place a special order at Fully Booked since it’s licensed by 801 media; I saw a couple of yaoi mangas at fully booked BGC branch and Powerplant Mall that’s licensed by 801 media. But that was last year so I’m not sure about it’s availability. :<

        Hope that helps. 🙂

      • The price shocked me too.
I saw some BL manga at Fully Booked in SM MoA but I was low on cash then so I lost the opportunity to buy. I didn’t know you can make a special order at Fully Booked until you said so.

        Thanks a lot, you’re a great help. ;’p

  4. O-Oh my goodness, I love your blog *A* I’ve been following it for some time but haven’t had the chance to comment >w< I love your posts and look forward to your future ones, fellow fujoshi :3

I hope you don't mind, but I added your blog to my blogroll 🙂

  5. Hi! Just like all of the people above mentioned. I also stumbled on your page while searching if there is a group of Filipino Fujoshi. But its nice to know that there is also another fujoshi from the same country out there. I have to agree when you mentioned that its hard to find BL stuff here in our country. Anyway, its nice knowing you.

  6. Hi, fellow Pinoy fujoshi here…may I know what shipping method do you use here in the Philippines?I’m a bit wary in using EMS because I’m afraid my bl purchases (some are too explicit) might be taxed and questioned at the customs…any advice? It’s my first time buying online 😀 Thanks

    • I use EMS most of the time (HMV).
If you want your orders to surely arrive at your doorstep and avoid it being held up in customs, go for Amazon jp—if you’re actually willing to spend a ludicrous amount of money for shipping that is.
I haven’t received my parcel from YesAsia yet so I’m not sure what kind of carrier they use.
Although for me the most convenient so far is via EMS. They will just charge you P40 when the item arrives at your place.
But then in some cases, it often ends up in customs. But that only happened to me once though? It was scary but they don’t really check the contents. Thankfully the titles I bought then didn’t really look that…. Obscene.;; Just try to look normal if ever that happens to you and pray that the cover that is on top looks safe, haha!
The safest and most expensive will be Amazon jp. The items will surely arrive at your doorstep but be ready to pay for custom fees.
I will only advise you to go for amazon if you’re buying in bulk. 8) if you have any more questions please don’t hesitate to ask. 8)
