Feature: Whut*Nani Issue 6

First of all, Happy New Year to everyone! I hope 2013 brings the best of luck to all of us! ❤

A few weeks ago, a good online friend of mine invited me to make an article about the recent BLush Convention for the 6th issue of their BL anthology, Whut*Nani.

It was really an honor being a part of this issue. Thank you so much, Snakey (Sho) for inviting me! ❤
You can download the anthology in their website.

On another note, Blush Anthology will be releasing their second volume early this year and I do hope everyone will look forward to it! They already decided on a certain theme and personally I find it very cute! I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say anything regarding BLush’s plans on providing yummy BL reads to everyone but I just want to say there really is a lot to look forward to! ❤

BL rebound

Waited for quite a long time for me to get back on buying BL so I think it’s okay to spoil myself again with a few titles. As much as I want to spend all out on releases I missed, I limited myself to the ones I really like and just took note of the others that I can just buy next time. I don’t really have much time to read lately anyways since uni has been a pain plus I’m busy for a convention this December. ;;

Dame BL comic anthology + Viz Media’s SuBLime

For those of you who have purchased “Moe Danshi Gatari 2″, I’m sure you guys were able to notice the last page wherein they announced an upcoming BL anthology called “Dame BL”. It’s said there that the anthology will be released early summer of 2011, but it was only recently that they have announced it’s official release. I don’t really know any other information about it besides from the blog entry I read a few days ago by Kijitora.

(Information from Animate Online)

So the anthology is about the works of different mangakas and authors whose publishers didn’t approve of. Well judging from the title, I think it mostly consists of some bizarre (in a good way) BL story ideas our favorite mangakas/authors have ever thought of. Maybe their publishers thought such stories won’t really get the interest of BL manga readers but—let’s just wait and see, haha!

The line-up looks really exciting:

Comics line-up – Kumota Haruko, Morozumi Sumitomo, Est Em, Umematsu Machie, Okadaya Tetuzoh, Chiba Ryouko, etc.
Columns line-up – Aoyama Toomi, Kusama Sakae, Psyche Delico, Yoneda Kou, etc.

Expecting a lot more from the list, obviously! *w*

On another note, Viz Media launches their new BL imprint called “SuBLime”. I just got to read about it the other day. ;; I’m not really into buying English licensed titles but this is very exciting for all BL fans! *u*

I’m back.

I’m finally back from my short vacation trip! That place is quite known for stargazing – so I enjoyed a lot of course. (*´▽`*)

So these are my second to the last order for this month. These actually came in last Thursday but I didn’t get to share it on my blog since just as I said, I went on a short trip to stargazing paradise for a while. (^v^)Although, I really couldn’t wait to get home during my trip since I know my beloved BL purchases are waiting for me to devour them. (;__;) So as you can see, I’m loading up with some previous titles lately since I’m way behind BL fandom already, lol.

Anyway, I just finished reading Kojima Lalako’s “Iya yo Yamete yo” and currently reading “Neko no Yomeiri“. After that, I’ll be reading Junko’s “Star-like Words” then Sunae Hata’s “Neko no Me no Horoscope“. (*u*)

I might do a “Moe Danshi Gatari” post soon for those who haven’t seen this gorgeous art book yet (like me who only got to see some scanned images ;__;).

Until the next review updates. (*´▽`*)

Some releases.

I am so sorry for the lack of new updates lately. Been busy with some illustrations I’m working on and last night I couldn’t update about next month’s releases because I was also busy reading Takarai Rihito’s “Hana no Mizo Shiru” . I still have to read some old Yamana Hiko titles after that. /currently burried but loving it OTL

Anyway, onto the releases!

  • Hanaoto

I never really gave much attention to Hanaoto’s comics anthologies until I saw one of their cover illustrations by Sakura Haiji. And I see CJ Michalski – uhh, well it’s not that I don’t like her works but I knew her for doing a lot of shotacon titles before and, I have this love-hate relationship with shotacon stories (Cobra Mansion of Terror, anyone?). OTL;;

Ah. I see Sakuraga Mei’s work again. It’s been a while since I last read her Waruikoto series (haven’t finished it yet, though). I miss Towa’s adorable stupidity. (;w;)

For some May releases…

I am so curious about Fujisaki Kou’s works. Even though I don’t really like her kind of serious art that much, I want to give her stories a try. Will do more research about her soon.

Quite excited for next month’s releases! (*u*) I feel Koshino’s “Acchi to Kocchi” cover illustration will be so cute. Also, Sagami Waka’s anticipated “Dramatic Maestro Vol.3” will finally be released. Speaking of Sagami Waka, I forgot to order her “Kamatte Kawaii Hito” in my last orders. OTL Her cover illustrations are soooooo cute. Not familiar with any of Chitose Piyoko’s works but I have seen numerous covers of her works which are, well, usually very, very sexy. /cough (ーー;)

BL48手+ いとしの猫っ毛 ~Itoshi no Nekokke~ (CITRON COMICS)

I first saw the BL48手 on Fuuko‘s blog before and decided to get a copy for myself since I really thought it was interesting and it’s definitely a must-buy. When I read about it in Amazon.jp, I got more excited in ordering it, lol. Then a few weeks later, my payment method got messed up so I had to wait for it again to be in stock. Then after a few days, it was finally in stock again so I unhesitatingly ordered it together with some other tankoubons.

The book consists of colored illustrations by different mangakas showing different unique positions each together with a short story and an explanation of the position. Mhmm. Anyway, I still have to read all of the stories next time.  I must say that it’s REALLY worth it. (*A*) Great quality and a lot of helpful information – about sex positions of course, lol.

Note that this book is about (gay) sex positions, I do not recommend it if you’re not into seeing eccentric and acrobatic (sex) poses, AND the book is in full Japanese text, so if you can’t read Japanese, you’ll just waste your money – unless if you’re already satisfied with just looking at the illustrations, then go buy one. I highly recommend it. ( ̄ー ̄)

The other one is Kumota Haruko’s “Itoshi no Nekokke“. I’m not familiar with Kumota Haruko but just like how I usually discover new mangakas, I stumbled upon this tankoubon once again and got to read some nice reviews and decided to get myself a copy. I haven’t read it yet since I still have to finish reading Mieno Saori’s “Ano Ko ga Kare o Suki na Riyuu“. (´・ω・`)
