gateau by Ichijinsha – A New Boys-Love Magazine

Ichijinsha will publish yet another exciting line of BL goodness—gateau Magazine. Their tag line, “Creative Destruction: Ultimate Borderless BL Comics” is really intriguing. I’m not exactly sure if this is a theme just for their first issue but nonetheless, it’s really exciting!

The artist lineup is also impressive. I’m sure some or most of you got all giddy when you saw Suou and Matsumoto Ikko (or Ichiko I’m quite not sure how to read it)! *u*) I think this will be their debut comic appearances, yeah? I only know Suou got to work for otome and Vocaloid CD illustrations but I haven’t heard any BL-related works yet other than fan goods and stuff. As for Matsumoto Ikko, she recently deleted if not all, most of her sites and pixiv accounts so I have no idea when she announced a debut like this one. I only know she made a lot of BL stuff way back. Really excited on how their works will be like!

The rest of the lineup includes Nagarenai Tessyu, Natsuka Kudan, Arii Memeko, Hideyoshico and Yamada Papiko. ❤

The magazine is scheduled to release on November 30, 2013

Please go to their main site for the wonderful teaser illustrations.

Some small things I find “pretty-interesting”.

Literally “pretty” and “interesting”, that is. ;;

→ For the past few weeks, I’ve been spazzing about a newly discovered mangaka that eventually forced me into buying Canna’s volume 16. Guess who?

It’s Yamada Torico! *u*

I just can’t get over her art style. When I first saw Canna post some previews in their twitter account, Yamada Torico’s work really caught my attention. It’s looks so adorable and her coloring is pretty as well! For the story, it’s basically about a boy named Miyamae-kun who has an enormous love and inspiration for his grandmother. He even go to such lengths as growing up pretending to be a girl — until his grandmother died. But even if he stopped pretending to be a girl, he still followed one trait — again, inspired by his grandmother, and that is finding his own “prince” — just like how his grandmother found hers (which was obviously his grandfather). BL Update – finally.

I’m so sorry for the long absence! I got busy with driving school and enlisting matters at my university. I was actually thinking of updating last week since I was all hyped up about Kojima Lalako’s recent blog entries.

➜ First of all, she made a tumblr account. Although, she removed her post about it after a few days (or was it the following day?). I don’t really know what’s her reason for removing that post but she didn’t delete her account – she’s still posting some yummy doujinshi teasers and fanarts there, lol.

➜ For those who wanted to buy her “Kawaii Kimi no Koto da Mono” doujinshi at the Super Comic City 20 held early this month in Japan, you can finally buy here it at ComiComi Studio. \*u*/

➜ For magazine/anthology news, she’s in the newest issue of Chara Selection and Moca! I swear the stories seem so interesting (I promise this is not me being biased! ;u;). So as I always say in my blog, I rarely read stories serialized in magazines. I only buy magazines/anthologies whenever I see a mangaka I know and if something seems new and interesting. ;;;

Gateau’s Vol.3 cover by Ogura Muku – IT IS SOOOOO  BEAUTIFUL. /;A;\ and what’s more is that, from what I read on Chill-Chill, Arii Memeko’s “Hitorijime Boyfriend” has been continued! Not really sure about the story though since I haven’t read it yet. sob

I’m pretty sure a lot of Arii Memeko fans are very much hyped up about this said continuation; so if you were able to read the first story and loved it, better grab your copy of Gateau Vol.3 noww. *q*

Because I really think Arii Memeko’s adorable.

For me, cute covers are srs bznz, lol. And Arii Memeko’s cover for “Hanpa na KOI Nara Yame ni Shiro!” is just that.

I actually saw this 2 days ago but wasn’t able to make an entry about it earlier. ;w;

Just like her “Hitorijime Boyfriend“, this new cover of hers is just as cute! (*´▽`*)

I haven’t been really keeping track of her works but all I know is that she mostly works for S-lash2 (her ‘Apron Series’ mobile comics) and her debut tankoubon (Hitorijime Boyfriend) which was released through Gateau comics last late November 2010. As for doujinshis, she had a couple of works from popular series such as Persona (mostly P3 and Trinity Soul), Starry Sky and Code Gayass– I mean GEASS, sorry. (/□\;) Her art style is very adorable and I really love her choice of colors! ( ´∀`)

Anyway, “Hanpa na KOI Nara Yame ni Shiro” will be released this 27th of May. For those who already pre-ordered this, I envy you guys so much! (T▽T)

I hope Amazon posts a bigger version of the cover soon. ;u;
