BL rebound

Waited for quite a long time for me to get back on buying BL so I think it’s okay to spoil myself again with a few titles. As much as I want to spend all out on releases I missed, I limited myself to the ones I really like and just took note of the others that I can just buy next time. I don’t really have much time to read lately anyways since uni has been a pain plus I’m busy for a convention this December. ;;

customs horror + last January orders.

I just realized otakutofujoshi already turned 1 last January 27. /;n;\ belated happy birthday to my blog. ;u; ❤

I was supposed to do an appreciation post to everyone who have subscribed, read, commented and linked my blog to theirs but I always run out of time so I’ll just be posting my appreciation post when I’m not too busy. ;u;

Anyway! These last orders from January were as frustrating as my first orders from December. Well for one, waiting for a month was a pain. I was worried EMS wasn’t able to get a hold of my package and it got lost somewhere—thankfully it didn’t. But what was so frustrating is that it ended up in customs so I had to go all the way to the main office just so I can get these.

This is the first time I have encountered such inconvenience with EMS. I can’t say I wasn’t able to encounter problems with them before but compared to this one, this one’s just scary. ;A;

So it all started a few weeks ago. I tried calling the customs office and asked about my package. The one who answered my call was a woman. She was so uncooperative that I had to repeat my tracking number 5 times for her to finally track it. Imagine if I didn’t call them then my package will just remain at their office for eternity… err. So yeah after that, she told me it was ready for pick-up. I then asked my dad if he can accompany me to the customs since I don’t know how to get there.

Once we arrived, the people at the customer service were nice. They told me what I should do, where I should go and what should I present to the people at the parcel room. After that, me and my dad waited for 30 minutes for them to locate my parcel. I swear their service was so bad since they were so disorganized. The old man from the parcel section told me to go to the parcel collecting station and just wait for my parcel there. Thinking I can already get my parcel, I was shocked to know that they still had to OPEN IT UP. Imagine the intense feeling I had when a middle-aged man finally called me and asked me to have a look at my parcel. Of course it wasn’t only me who was going to check it—there’s the middle-aged man, an old lady who gets to check the invoice receipts and suddenly, MY DAD came over beside me. I was literally  seconds away from actually throwing up since I was too scared of what might actually happen. ;;

Thankfully, they didn’t sort it out anymore because if they did, and if they saw Manako’s and Katou Setsuko’s cover, I’ll probably be in a serious questioning session.

Anyway, enough of my horror story and onto some sneak peeks!

Takarai Rihito + Kojima Lalako

→ CRAFT already posted the cover for Takarai Rihito’s cover for “Hana no Mizo Shiru 2“. *w*

Gorgeous. Just as expected from Takarai Rihito. :’D I don’t read the scanlation version of this so I’m pretty excited what the story turned out to be since the first volume.

→ Kojima Lalako will be in the latest issue of BExBOY Magazine (which is out today) so I’m really torn if I should buy it or not. I want to buy it because of Kojima Lalako but I’m not familair with some of the mangakas in the lineup so. ;; I really, really miss reading her works but I can’t afford certain BL magazines like this one so I’ll just patiently wait until she gets a new tankoubon release sob.

→ Also about Kojima Lalako, a friend just told me earlier that she’ll be on the cover of moca Vol.8!!! AHHHHH I seriously can’t wait for the cover to be posted!!! /;w;\

Too bad it’s already back-to-school for me this Tuesday. But it’s already the second semester which means a lot of holidays are coming up so I won’t disappear as much, lol. I’m still waiting for my orders to come in this month so I’ll be planning out a couple of reviews as well. And finally! I might post my very first mangaka insight—in which I will talk about BL mangakas and how thankful I am for their existence and for bringing us these beautiful homoerotic masterpieces. /shot/ it’s pretty obvious who I’ll be writing about first. Haha!

daily BL matters.

I’ve been lurking around BL sites most of the time lately since it’s already our sembreak and I really don’t have much to do in Tumblr nowadays. ;; Also, I finally got to finish some mangas and got to list down my new purchases for next month! *u*

Anyway, off to the stuff I really wanted to talk about right now.

→ First off, I want to talk about some releases I wasn’t able to mention in my previous entry. It seems Takarai Rihito’s “Hana no Mizo Shiru (2)” will be finally released in tankoubon form by next month; I remember someone asking me on my formspring about it’s tankoubon release so I hope that person will be able to read this! ;u; Also, Yamada Torico’s “Long and Beautiful Life” will also be released next month! /really excited/ I only got to read a part of the story that was in Canna volume 16 and  the other story “Mizutama” from volume 11 before so I’m really looking forward to reading more of it when it finally gets released in tankoubon form! \*u*/

→ Speaking of Yamada Torico, I just finished reading her “Kanashii Hito wa Doko ni mo Inai” a while ago. After reading it, I became more intrigued about Yamada Torico’s stories. I’m not going to further talk about it in this entry since I’m thinking of making a set of short reviews soon; that’s where I’ll definitely share my thoughts on her work. Also, I’m really starting to like Umiyuki Lily. I’m kind of freaked out about her — in a nice way since she reminds me so much of Kojima Lalako. Again, I’ll tell you guys more about it in my short review post. Hee

→ I recently got to check some new scanlation releases in Baka-Updates and saw Hideyoshiko’s “Negative-kun to Positive-kun” has finally been released. *u* this will be my first time to read any of Hideyoshiko’s work since I only got to read a review of this particular tankoubon from a friend’s blog. I will definitely get myself the actual tankoubon if ever I can save up enough money this month. orz;;

→ I am also eager to get my hands on Nobara Aiko’s “Akiyama-kun“! It seems a lot of BL bloggers loved it and I keep seeing good reviews about it so I’ll definitely include it in my to-buy priority list, lol. The cover is adorable and I have a 100% feeling I will love it as much as my fellow fujoshis did. ❤

→ I haven’t heard of the BL comics anthology “BiQ” until a friend told me about it a few months ago. I was supposed to buy its 2nd volume since the cover was illustrated by Kobato Mebaru (and it is indeed CUTE) but anthologies make my wallet cry so I told myself to just save it for next time. But I am really tempted by this month’s BiQ release since the cover (by Tsutomu) is just too lovely. Also, I’m pretty much curious about the anthology itself so might as well try to get myself a copy. ;;

And that concludes today’s entry. Until the next update! o/

萌え男子がたり ~Moe Danshi Gatari~

Aah. Sorry for not updating for a while. Been busy organizing my BL purchases for the next few months and I’m still trying to finish Persona 4, lol. But I am back with this short review – or preview for those who haven’t checked out this wonderful book yet.

So as I said in this post, I finally decided to do the review today since I got too lazy to do it in more earlier time. ( ̄□ ̄;)

Anyway, Moe Danshi Gatari is basically an artbook which contains 52 gorgeously colored illustrations of different Moe men types by 52 different mangakas. Some of the noted mangakas that contributed here are: Nakamura Asumiko, Aniya Yuiji, Itsuki Kaname, Est Em, Matsumoto Miecohouse, Yoneda Kou, Natsumizu Ritsu, Fujimoto Haruki, Manda Ringo and Nangoku Banana.

Those are just some of the noted ones. There are a lot more interesting mangakas who contributed here so I suggest everyone to buy this wonderful book. (*´▽`*)

Reviews: 花のみぞ知る 1 ~Hana no Mizo Shiru~ (ミリオンコミックス CRAFT SERIES 43)

Hana no Mizo Shiru” is Takarai Rihito’s third tankoubon release from CRAFT. It was first serialized in CRAFT last 2009 and the tankoubon version was finally released last December 25, 2010. Technically, it’s her first “independent” BL tankoubon release because both of her “Seven Days” titles were by a different author. Even her first shoujo manga titled “Torikagoshou no Kyou mo Nemutai Juunintachi” was by a different author.

I haven’t read Seven Days yet, though. I was supposed to buy the licensed English version (June) before, I decided that I should just buy the original from CRAFT. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get to order it yet because whenever I check it on, it’s always out of stock or I still have to wait for 2-5 weeks for it to finally be ready for shipment. OTL but I will definitely order my copy as soon as possible.

So onto the plot…

Persona 4 Anime Adaptation + random illustration

I know everybody’s been waiting for this. Ever since the mysterious video and countdown site appeared, everyone’s been talking and patiently waiting for its most-anticipated announcement. I was actually expecting a P4P release rather than an animaton, though. But nonetheless, it’s still exciting. Also, Souji’s name is changed to “Narukami Yu”. (o__o ) I really think “Seta Souji” is cooler, though. D:

I really waited for the TV to turn 00:00:00. And when it finally turned 0, I turned it on and… well, nothing happened. Good thing a friend of mine sent me another link then there it was – the announcement of an anime release. So, I waited for nothing basically. Hopefully something turns up tomorrow in the TV.

Also, Takarai Rihito and Yamada Nichome were also tweeting about it a while ago!

Takarai Rihito’s tweet is so cute! She let her friend borrow her P4 game that’s why she still couldn’t play it. I don’t know why I find that cute, though. /lolbiased

So anyway, in celebrating today’s most-anticipated Persona 4 announcement, I TRIED to make a fanart but failed. I really fail in drawing Yosuke’s hair everytime so I just turned it into a random BL illustration, lol.

‘Til the next update!

Aoi Seri + Nakamura Asumiko + finally got my orders

I was browsing through some icon journals at LiveJournal (yes, I came back to LJ recently) and a certain illustration caught my attention – Aoi Seri’s art. I once again, fell in love with a great artist. (*A*) I am currently browsing her blog right now and all of her drawings look great. I haven’t read any of her works, though.

See for yourselves. CLICK

Oh and just now, I found something interesting. It seems Fuuko (hazukashiikedo) has a review on one of Aoi Seri’s work before! \(*A*)/ CLICK

Moving on, I also stumbled upon Nakamura Asumiko’s works a while ago. Although I don’t really know what happened, it seems she’s on hiatus right now. Will try reading her Doukyuusei and Double Mints later.

What I have been doing last night:

My usual OCs (original characters). Yes, I know they look so common especially Takagi-sensei (the one with the glasses). He was actually inspired by Nagi from Amagi Reno’s Oni ni Hatsujou. I already drew him before although in my other drawing, he looks much matured. See it here in my tumblr blog.

Not yet finished. Unfortunately, I have no intentions of finishing it – or maybe I will but it will take months for me to decide, lol.

Hello everyone! Meet Aki and Saigo. As you can see, Aki’s hair isn’t done yet. (.__. ) Saigo’s expression still needs improvement, and overall, I still have to ink and color it. I think I’ll be finishing this one. (ーー;)

It finally arrived! (@_@)

I still have 2 orders lined up for delivery tomorrow. I can’t wait to read these later. (T▽T)

Japan + fail ordering + what I’m expecting this month

First of all, I want to say that I’m terribly saddened to hear about the current situation in Japan. I was informed about it by my dad and step-mom last Friday. They told me how the tsunami destroyed every house and building in Honshu. I had goosebumps just by imagining it that time. A while ago, I finally had the time to watch TV and I immediately tuned into CNN. I really cried when I saw how the tsunami destroyed different places and how many lives were taken because of it. So please, let us all pray for Japan’s recovery. I’m sure there are a lot of easy ways on how to donate. So please do if you can.

Only for Filipinos:

Filipinos who wish to help earthquake- and tsunami-stricken Japan may send their monetary donations via text message to the Philippine Red Cross, the humanitarian organization’s secretary-general Gwendolyn Pang said Sunday.

People who wish to donate must type on their mobile phones ‘RED AMOUNT’ and send the message to 2899 (Globe) or 4483 (Smart).

Globe subscribers may also send donations through the G-Cash transfer scheme by typing ‘DONATE (space) AMOUNT (space) 4-digit M-PIN (space) REDCROSS’ and then sending the message to 2882.

The Philippine Red Cross website also lists donation schemes through PayPal, cash or check, or bank deposits.

Okay, so serious topic aside, I’m want to share how I failed to order in the other day – I actually forgot the due payment, lol. I hope they’ll let me order it again. (T▽T)

Alongside that first order of mine, I ordered 4 new items and this time, I used a debit card to be sure. ( ̄ー ̄)

These are the titles I ordered:

Hopefully, I’ll be able to finish reading them all by the end of this month so I can make a review already. (*´▽`*)
